Social impact seminar: a look back at a week of engagement

Last week, Tech Impact School hosted an intensive seminar on social impact, bringing together renowned speakers, students and committed professionals. The program included practical workshops, debates and conferences on concrete ways to create a positive impact through businesses and personal initiatives. This event was an opportunity for participants to delve into the heart of current social issues and to reflect on the actions they can take to contribute to a more equitable and sustainable world.

Leading speakers

The seminar began with a series of conferences led by recognized experts in the field of social impact. Among the speakers, we were honored to welcome NGO leaders, social entrepreneurs, and academics specialized in sustainable development. Each brought a unique perspective on global challenges such as poverty, inequality, and climate change, while sharing innovative strategies to address them.

"The Social Impact Seminar organized by Tech Impact School was an incredibly enriching experience. As a student of sustainable management, I really appreciated the diversity of the topics covered and the quality of the speakers, who are recognized experts in their fields."

These exchanges allowed participants to better understand the interconnection between the different aspects of social impact, as well as the importance of collective engagement to induce sustainable changes. The discussions also highlighted the crucial role that companies can play as actors of social change.

Practical workshops: from theory to action

One of the highlights of the seminar was the series of practical workshops, where participants were invited to apply the concepts discussed during the conferences. These workshops covered a wide range of topics, from the creation of social enterprises to the development of community engagement strategies. Supervised by experienced professionals, students were able to work on concrete projects, develop action plans, and receive constructive feedback to refine their ideas.

These sessions were particularly enriching, allowing participants to move from theory to practice and to confront real challenges in the field. They also fostered teamwork and innovation, essential skills in the field of social impact.

Confronting ideas to better move forward

Dynamic debates also punctuated this week of engagement. These exchanges made it possible to confront different visions of social and sustainable development, highlighting the divergences of opinions and the challenges that result from them. Participants were encouraged to defend their ideas, while remaining open to the perspectives of others, an essential exercise for developing critical and nuanced thinking.

The discussions covered topics such as the effectiveness of government initiatives versus corporate initiatives, the role of consumers in supporting ethical businesses, and the challenges of integrating sustainability principles into traditional business models. These discussions stimulated reflection and inspired new ideas for the future.

The Social Impact Seminar was a week rich in learning and exchange, reinforcing Tech Impact School’s mission to develop leaders capable of transforming our society. This event demonstrated that through collective engagement and deep reflection, it is possible to design innovative and effective solutions to the social challenges of our time. We thank all participants for their energy and commitment, and we look forward to seeing how they will put the ideas developed during this seminar into practice.
